PAPER & CARDSTOCK BATCH MASS

From gsm
to grams.

Enter a sheet’s dimensions, grammage and physical count. See the paper-only mass, with packaging kept separate.

Nominal arithmetic. No postage rates, scale reading or thickness guess.

Your sheets.

Sheet rectangle

Uses the entered rectangle exactly. Changing units preserves its physical size.

Stock & physical quantity

Count sheets, not printed sides or pages. Zero sheets is valid. Enter whole digits without commas or exponent notation.

Additional mass for the whole batch

Optional. Blank means unknown. Enter 0 only when the additional mass is known to be zero. An entered value is added once per batch.

Paper first.
Extras separately.

THE SMALL DIFFERENCE THAT ADDS UP

4.9896 grams
is not 5 grams.

At an entered 210 × 297 mm and 80 g/m², the sheet area is 0.06237 m². Multiplying gives 4.9896 g per sheet and 2494.8 g for 500 sheets. Rounding each sheet to 5 g first would produce 2500 g instead.

Packaging, ink, glue, moisture and other material are not guessed. Supply an additional batch mass only if you know it. Grammage does not by itself establish thickness, stiffness or stock strength.
